Catching Up

It has been over a month since I've blogged. I guess my excuse is that it takes so long to upload pictures. I like my blog to be a photo journal of what's going on in Vernonia and with me. I seem to be so busy that I really don't have an entire day to blog.
I am still subbing. I even took the kindergarten class for a day. I sat in their little chairs to be eye level with them. I couldn't walk two days later. I really like subbing in the high school. I like to see the kids that I taught in fifth grade. My last class are juniors now. I like subbing in fifth grade. It feels like going home. They still use some of the programs that I designed.
I love playing bridge on Monday afternoons. Eleanor, our 92 year old bridge buddy, fell and broke her shoulder. She was in the hospital and recovering for awhile, but I'm happy to say, she is back.
We have a red hat activity every month. We had a Halloween party in October and dinner at the Black Bear and a variety Show in November.
P.E.O. has started up again in October. We are busy planning for the bazaar and a Founder's Day luncheon in February.
I play pinochle with the pinochle group and bunco with the ladies and couples bunco with 8 couples. I took in some Junior High and High School volleyball games.
Vernonia held the Salmon Festival in October. They but on a Melodrama, what fun!
As far as family things, we've had a family cider making day, birthday parties, school events, and we have a new Great Grandchild. Dawson Hunter Dethlefs was born on October 22.
I will be uploading pictures of some of these events. Enjoy!

Good to see you back.
Blogging is supposed to be fun, not a cause for stress. Do what you can. You are one active and busy lady!

Nice to see you back. I wondered why your photos take so long to upload so I checked the size of your last photos. They are very big, that is lots of pixels. Blogger publishes pctures with about 400x300poxels so there is no need to upload them as big as yours which are about 1200x1600 pixels. That is why it is taking ages for you to upload them. You need to resize the photos to 400x300 or websize and they will load quite quickly. Have a look in your photo programs and see if there is a resize function. I use Microsoft Picture manager it comes with Microsoft office so if you have office it will be in your computer already. Hope this has been helpful.
