To flood or not to flood, that is the question

The experts have been predicting flooding all day. We just went for a ride and the water IS high, but not over the banks, yet. We are supposed to get a really hard rain overnight. I hope not. Tim and his family stayed in their house tonight. Most of their things are still in our house or garage. I hope they don't have to make a run for it in the middle of the night.
I went for a walk this morning, the first time I have been able to walk downtown. The snow is melted enough now so that I can get around. It felt good to get out and walk, even if the skies were gray, and there were some obstacles in my way.My first obstacle was a huge wall of snow, left after a parking lot was cleared.

The lake is still frozen, even after the 50 degree days. There is a hole in the middle were the ducks congregate.

The frozen lake

This morning the water wasn't even close to going over the bank.

My second obstacle

The third obstacle

Good weather for ducks.
I'm heading for bed soon. I hope to wake in the morning to a dry town.

I have been praying for Vernonia to somehow escape another flood.
