It was my privilege and honor to help choose our local P.E.O. Scholarship winners. Our P.E.O. group contributes to National and State Scholarship programs, but our favorite is helping local girls go on to college. This year we chose two girls that are very nice young ladies, and by the way, they were in my class as fifth graders.

They look happy with their success.
It was nice to catch up on all your news, Ilene! The new Vernonia court yard looks nice, what I could see of it, and looks like it will have good use at least once a month. Your flowers are gorgeous!
I've just discovered the PEO and I must sya they seem to be the kind of sisterhood that every girl in high school should sign up for. They are the real deal when it comes to really helping out girls pay for a higher education today...which is outragous at some schools. The PEO scholarship program offers many different types of scholarships that can can be used by many girls or even moms who want to return to school and can't afford it. I belive this organization should get more publicity because it offers many scholarship programs for females that are fair and attainable too. They may be the top womens club today. If it helps women pay for college I am all in favor of them. A free education should be a god given right today and hopefully some day it will! Congrads on those who got a PEO scholarship.
